Participants interested in presenting data should submit abstracts by email before 20 June 2008. Abstracts that have been presented as posters at other meetings will be considered for encore presentation. Please include the word abstract in the subject of the email and attach the abstract to your email. Abstracts are subject to acceptance by the Scientific Committee by 27 June 2008. Once accepted, abstracts will be published in the final program book and scheduled for poster presentation.

   
   

Abstract Guidelines:

  • Download the abstract template and follow the included instructions.
  • Abstracts must be written in English
  • Accepted format: Word document format, 12 point Arial font, 300 - 350 word count limit
  • Use a concise title
  • List affiliations of author(s) as briefly as possible, with city, state and country
  • Place an asterisk (*) before the name of the presenting author
  • Use standard and well-accepted abbreviations
  • When using references, use standard and well-accepted formats

Additional guidelines for symposium speakers:

 

Preparation of presentation:

  • Please use only Power Point presentation.

  • Try to fill the entire PowerPoint slide if possible.

  • Use no more than 7 words per line; no more than 7 lines per slide.

  • Graphs and charts should be simple. Avoid table presentation when projected.

  • Use Windows standard fonts only.


On site: 

 

At the congress venue, a previewing room, identified as the Speakers Room will be available. Staff will be present to assist you, if needed. Make sure that you hand over the prepared presentation on CD or USB-stick to the attending staff-member at least 2 hours prior to the beginning of your session. For morning sessions, the evening before please.


While giving your talk:

  • The duration of your talk should not be longer than stipulated. The chairpersons may interrupt you, if you extend your talk beyond the allocated time.

  • The PowerPoint presentation can be advanced by yourself with the mouse.

  • A laser pointer will be available at the podium.
